I bought this book for my first graders because I love Julia Cook's books, but it was a bit wordy for first graders. I would save it for 2nd and above.
Julia Cook nails it again! This is a great book for children/students to help them understand the basics of social media/internet pitfalls. She incorporates the THINK acronym in the story which is awesome! I would recommend this book for 2nd till about 5th grade.
Good concept but difficult for younger students to fully understand.
I’ve been reading this book to my Third graders during my guidance lessons on Digital Citizenship. They are loving the story! Makes it easy for them to understand why it’s important to be safe and kind online. Love Julia Cook books!!!
I like how the book goes over the consequences of the internet and how everything you post "follows" you. I think this book conveyed that message in a very age appropriate manner!
It's hard to go wrong with a Julia Cook book for the many school and social issues children face. Entertaining, informative and frequently hilarious without being preachy. The topic of phone smarts is so important for kids and adults. This is probably the 15th book we have by Cook. Even as the kids get older, her books are always a hit in our house.
Fun to read to kids and helps them to see why they should avoid putting certain kinds of information on the internet. Kids actually enjoy the book. I work with kids and find it appropriate for any child who is on social media in any way.
I'm a technology teacher and love using this book to discuss what you should say on the internet.
