If you weren't scared of volcanoes before, you will be after reading this book! I bought it to read with my 3-year-old who really likes volcanoes, figured it would complement us teaching her how they work. It does that very well, but it also include a lot of stories about volcanoes killing entire cities of people (Pompeii, for one). True enough, but good job freaking your kids out. My child didn't seem to mind, but I'm hesitant to read it to her too often.

Very well written. I loved reading it to my grandson twins.

I bought this for my 7 year old and it's a bit complicated for him, both to read and to listen to. For a Level 2, it's surprisingly complicated, not that that's a bad thing, per se, it's just for a 7 year old I was looking for something of a quicker read. I do look forward to bringing it out again next year.

My 7 year old son LOVES this 'Let's Read and Find Out' series, they are so well written and I find them interesting & informative as well!

My 4.5 yr son *loves* this book. He's been wild about Volcanoes for about a year now. This book may not have pages of detailed info (if you're looking for that get your child a volcano encyclopedia), but it has a some good facts and some pretty good pictures. It's also easy enough for him to read himself.

This was a big hit with our three and four year old boy who are obsessed with volcanoes. It sits at the oldest's bedside ready for reading each night. It would probably be age appropriate for an older child as well. Great photos and descriptions.

My children love this book and so do I. It just doesn't get old. There are so many engaging facts involving the earth and volcanic activity that anyone can discover something they hadn't before. The illustrations are elaborate and colorful. The activity at the end involves building a volcano.

Great simple book about Volcanos. I love reading it to my students
