Everything ok, arrived just in time!
Several problems with the book:1) Formulas are very small on kindle device2) Abbreviations, calculations could be formatted much better. Make some space between formulas3) Table of contents is not workingThe advantage of this book is that it goes straight to the point. There is a problem with presentation, not with the content.
Browsing through the internet, I saw a couple of links pointing towards one of the best books to understand the basics of Cost accounting by yourself. As the name suggests, it is a self learning book. Doesn't go very deep in concepts but does a fairly good job for someone like me to understand the basics of Cost accounting. I would have loved this book a lot more if the unsolved examples towards the end would have been solved.

I expected more. The examples were weak and irrelevant. I would have have liked more information on activity based costing.

The subjects are covered thoroughly but in a way that the reader can understand.By the time the reader has gone through the book and the included accounting problems and actual solutions. A good way to know if you are on the right track then they can put them to use in their job setting. This is a book that should be put on your shelf to read and re-read and every time you do you gain a little more expertise. If you are interesting in improving your job skills, this book is easily understood and has problems and exercises with solutions to help you understand if you are heading in the right direction.I was given a complimentary copy of COST ACCOUNTING AND MANAGEMENT from the author,Kalpesh Ashar for my view of the book.

By the end of this book it is obvious that we now understand the standard Cost Accounting Terms, can apply cost accounting concepts to real-life business scenarios and can use relevant cost accounting information to make solid business decisions.As is his custom, Ashar includes cost accounting problems to solve and accompanies those with actual solutions - a very trustworthy and insightful way to solidify the self-learning aspect of this excellent series.
