I wish it covered my particular interests in writing rock music, with much more extensive info on making an electric guitar sound like great player is in front of his amp. Still looking for info this book missed.
For advanced folk only. Missing basic and is very general. You need to consider that people are not pros like yourself. Book is not connecting subjects. It is all over...

Any one new to Logic like I am, this bookis a must, wealth of info. Mr Asher did a ex. jobputting it together,I would recommend this book!!!!!
This text covers up to Logic 9, not Pro X, which I'm currently using. The author says updates will be forthcoming.Learning to convert tracks into "conductor worthy scores" is a mountain to climb. I've been at it off and on for 3 months, and still have not come close to solving issues I encountered early on. Very little is published on this subject, so this text fills a vacuum and most will find it very helpful. I have also subscribed to a 3 hr video series which is also very helpful.HOWEVER, most beginners like myself will encounter issues that these sources don't address. Every project will have its own demands and special needs, so it is unreasonable to think that a text of limited pages can cover everything. Yet, often the Score Editor will show results that are inexplicable, and so a long track of "solution hunt" ensues. For instance, the Score Editor is not displaying instrument names on the Score as indicated. I've re-worked the instructions several times and tried several options, to no avail. Is this a bug? I converted a bass drum track to a "single line" track, yet the rhythms don't appear and there is an extra notation of rests below the line. These sorts of things happen routinely in my early going. I've found that the "process" must be exact in several cases or something will not work right or display, but perhaps there is a minor thing I'm leaving out, but my sources so far don't mention it.This may seem like a collection of minor things, but I can spend hours of valuable time trying to find the fix. Patience is a virtue, but time is money. I'm still looking for a knowledgeable tutor to get me through this.
The book is clear, detailed, and has lots of tips from the authors experience scoring with Logic in Hollywood. Jay Asher also writes the Logic Pro 9 text.
This is a very well written, informative book.. Great help!! Must buy for all Logic users. Now we just need Logic X.
